Healing Resources

Hey, friends. I thought I'd start a new page with a list of the resources I have used and found most helpful in my healing journey. I hope something here may be of help to you.

This will be a work in progress that I plan to continue adding to.

Books:

In this book, author Donald L. Hilton Jr., MD explores the destructive power of pornography addiction, not just from a moral and spiritual perspective, but with the scrutiny of modern science...Relying on the latest research on addiction, and merging this knowledge with spiritual aspects of repentance and recovery, the author provides understanding and hope to those who seek healing and restoration of both body and spirit, which are the "soul of man."
Healing Through Christ Workbook: A Christ-Centered Approach to the 12-Step Program (free PDF download)
The Healing Through Christ workbook was created to help family members learn how to meet the challenges of having a loved one trapped in addiction. The workbook is based upon the Twelve Step principles of Al-Anon...Additional powerful healing principles from a variety of respected sources such as Melody Beattie’s books on codependency, S-Anon books, Hold on to Hope, LDS ecclesiastical leaders and the scriptures have all been compiled into one workbook for the benefit of family members.
***Your Sexually Addicted Spouse: How Partners Can Cope and Heal by Barbara Steffens ***
Your Sexually Addicted Partner shatters the stigma and shame that millions of men and women carry when their partners are sexually addicted. They receive little empathy for their pain, which means they suffer alone, often shocked and isolated by the trauma. Barbara Steffens' groundbreaking new research shows that partners are not codependents but post-traumatic stress victims, while Marsha Means' personal experience provides insights, strategies, and critical steps to recognize, deal with, and heal partners of sexually addicted relationships.
All These Things Shall Give Thee Experience by Neal A. Maxwell
In the midst of deep affliction, the Prophet Joseph Smith was told, “All these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.” The world at that moment was shown anew that God is aware of man's suffering, and that pain is not without purpose.
